Glutathione Reconstitution Calculator
For in vitro research use only · Not medical advice
Preset to a 1500 mg Glutathione vial in 10 mL of diluent. A 1500 mg vial in 10 mL gives 150 mg/mL. Glutathione is worked at milligram strengths — the reference aliquot here is 50 mg (50,000 mcg).
Glutathione reconstitution
Preset to a common Glutathione vial size and diluent volume. Adjust any field for your own laboratory protocol.
A 1500 mg Glutathione vial reconstituted with 10 mL gives 150 mg/mL. Measuring 0.333 mL gives 50,000 mcg per portion — about 30 portions from the vial.
Choosing a diluent for Glutathione
Very water-soluble — far more so than most peptides here — and dissolves in seconds. A fresh aqueous solution is acidic (around pH 3) because of its two carboxyl groups; that low pH actually slows oxidation of the thiol. Raising the pH toward neutral or alkaline, or trace metal ions such as copper and iron, speeds conversion to the disulfide GSSG.
Handling notes for Glutathione
- Let the vial reach room temperature before opening to stop condensation getting in.
- Use degassed diluent where possible and cap promptly after drawing.
- Avoid metal tools and buffers with trace copper or iron; plastic or glass only.
- Label aliquots with reconstitution date and diluent.
After reconstitution
