And is what’s in the vial actually what the label says? This guide answers each one in plain words. Take your time. There’s no rush and no pressure.

1. What “research use only” means, honestly
Everything we sell is a laboratory material: something scientists study in test tubes, cell cultures and analytical instruments. These compounds are not medicines. Health Canada hasn’t approved them to treat anyone, and they aren’t meant for people or pets.
We say this plainly because we care about who’s reading. If you came here hoping something might help with how you feel, please bring that to a doctor, nurse practitioner or pharmacist. They can look at your whole story, and you deserve that kind of care. We’re a lab supplier, and we want to be honest about what we are.
2. How to read a lab certificate (COA) in one minute
A Certificate of Analysis is a report from a testing lab. It’s the only real proof of what’s inside a vial. You don’t need a science degree to read one. Just look for these five things:
- 1.Compound & size
The name on the certificate should match the name on your vial, including the size (for example, 10 mg).
- 2.Batch / lot number
A code that ties this exact certificate to this exact production run. It’s printed on the vial, so the paper and the vial can be matched.
- 3.Purity (HPLC)
HPLC is a machine that separates a sample into its parts. The percentage tells you how much of the vial is the intended compound. 99% means 1% is something else, usually harmless leftovers from making it.
- 4.Identity (LC-MS)
LC-MS weighs the molecule. It confirms the compound is actually what the label says, not a look-alike. Purity without identity only tells half the story.
- 5.Test date & lab name
Who tested it and when. Ours are tested by TESTIDES, an independent lab that isn’t part of our supply chain, so we aren’t grading our own homework.
A gentle warning: a certificate with no lot number, no lab name, or a lot number that doesn’t match your vial can’t prove anything. It’s fine to ask any supplier for the real report, including us. Across our 13 most recently published batches, measured purity has ranged from 97.16% to 100.00%.

5. Ordering in a Canadian winter
Good news: our compounds ship as a freeze-dried (lyophilized) powder, and that form handles cold well. It’s the reason it’s freeze-dried in the first place. What we’d gently ask is that you bring the parcel inside soon after it arrives, rather than leaving it in a mailbox or on a porch for days. Once it’s in, laboratories usually keep unopened vials somewhere cool, dark and dry, and follow the storage window on each product page.

Questions people often ask us
What does “research use only” actually mean?
It means these compounds are sold as laboratory materials for scientific study, such as in vitro (test-tube and cell) work. They are not medicines, they are not approved by Health Canada for treating anyone, and they are not for use in people or animals. If you are looking for help with your own health, the kindest thing we can tell you is to talk with a doctor or pharmacist. They can look at your whole picture, which a website never can.
I’m new to this and a little nervous. Is that normal?
Completely. Most people who write to us have the same questions: is this supplier real, will my parcel get stuck, and is what’s in the vial what the label says. This page answers all three, and you can always email sales@popularpeptides.ca. There are no silly questions.
How do I read a Certificate of Analysis (COA)?
Check five things: the compound and size match your vial, the batch/lot number matches your vial, purity by HPLC (ideally 98–99% or higher), identity confirmed by LC-MS, and the name of the independent lab plus the test date. Then type the lot number into popularpeptides.ca/verify to see the original report.
Will my order go through customs?
No. We ship from inside Canada to Canadian addresses, so parcels never cross a border. That means no CBSA inspection, no seizures, and no surprise brokerage or duty fees at your door.
How long will delivery take where I live?
After we dispatch (usually 1–2 business days after payment): about 1–3 business days in BC, 2–4 on the Prairies, 3–5 in Ontario and Québec, and 4–6 in Atlantic Canada. The territories and remote addresses take longer. These are typical times, not guarantees.
Is it safe to ship in a Canadian winter?
Freeze-dried (lyophilized) powder handles cold well. That’s why it’s freeze-dried. The bigger risk is a parcel sitting for days in a mailbox or porch, so bring it inside when it arrives. Summer heat is actually harder on material than winter cold.
