What to Check When Your Epithalon Arrives

Not every irregularity on arrival is a defect, and not every compound is defective under the same conditions. Here is what actually matters when a Epithalon shipment arrives.

Synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly)Cellular LongevityCircadian & Sleep

Overview

Very robust in transit. The practical check is simply that a cake is present at all — at low fill weights a four-part molecule can leave a nearly invisible film that is easy to mistake for an empty vial.

What Epithalon actually is

Epithalon is the smallest molecule in this library — just four amino acids. It was distilled from an extract of the pineal gland studied in the Soviet Union from the 1970s, representing an attempt to find the shortest sequence that carried the activity of a complex tissue extract.

Supplied for laboratory research use only — not for human or animal use.

Research-grade Epithalon

Third-party tested by HPLC and LC-MS, ≥98% purity, with a Certificate of Analysis on every order. Ships across Canada.

Arrival inspection for Epithalon

Small peptides ship robustly and Epithalon is the most forgiving of them. The practical arrival check is that a cake is present at all — at low fill mass a tetrapeptide can leave a nearly invisible film that is easy to mistake for an empty vial.

Storage on arrival

On receiptSealed at -20 °C; short 2–8 °C periods are entirely acceptable for a molecule this small and simple.
Once reconstitutedRefrigerate at 2–8 °C. No methionine, cysteine, or tryptophan — light protection is not the priority it is for other compounds here.
Working windowCommonly worked with for 3–4 weeks at 2–8 °C.

Documentation to check

Confirm the mass at 390.3 Da. Note that very small, very polar peptides are chromatographically difficult — they elute near the void volume on standard RP-HPLC. A COA that shows good separation for a tetrapeptide reflects a properly developed method; one showing a peak crammed at the solvent front does not tell you much.

What Epithalon is studied for

Telomerase activation

The most-cited claim in the Epithalon literature, examined in cell-culture models.

Pineal and melatonin rhythm

Follows from its Epithalamin origin; studied for effects on circadian signalling in animal models.

Ageing models

A long-running Russian research programme examined lifespan endpoints in rodent models.

Peptide bioregulator concept

Epithalon is the flagship of Khavinson's "peptide bioregulator" framework, a distinct research tradition worth understanding as context.
