KPV Reconstitution Calculator

For in vitro research use only · Not medical advice

Preset to a 10 mg KPV vial in 2 mL of diluent. A 10 mg vial in 2 mL yields 5 mg/mL.

A 10 mg KPV vial reconstituted with 2 mL gives 5 mg/mL. Measuring 0.100 mL gives 500 mcg per portion — about 20 portions from the vial.

Choosing a diluent for KPV

Extremely water-soluble — a tripeptide has essentially no structure to resist dissolution. Solutions are clear and colourless and form almost instantly.

PrimaryBacteriostatic water (0.9% benzyl alcohol)
Alternative 1Sterile water (USP grade)
Alternative 2Phosphate-buffered saline

Handling notes for KPV

  • Reach room temperature before opening.
  • Use low-bind labware at very low working concentrations to limit adsorption.
  • Label aliquots with reconstitution date and diluent.

After reconstitution

StorageRefrigerate at 2-8 °C.
Working windowCommonly worked with for 3-4 weeks at 2-8 °C.
Freeze–thawVery tolerant; a tripeptide has no structure to disrupt. Aliquot to limit repeated handling.
