NAD+ in Canada: Anti-Aging Fuel or Spa Menu?

Kobi Williams · Popular Peptides Canada ·

NAD+ is a coenzyme, not a peptide, and its levels fall with age. Most human trials test oral precursors rather than NAD+ itself: in 2018, nicotinamide riboside (NR) raised blood NAD+ in healthy older adults, and in 2021 nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) improved muscle insulin sensitivity in about two dozen women with prediabetes. There is very little controlled research on IV NAD+. Injectable NAD+ is not approved as a medicine in Canada and is named in Health Canada’s April 2026 advisory.

[0:00]NAD+ drips are sold as anti-aging fuel. But what do the human studies actually test? Let’s check.

[0:06]First, NAD+ isn’t a peptide. It’s a coenzyme, a helper molecule every cell uses to make energy. It’s in peptide shops the way a cousin shows up at the family reunion. Studies show NAD+ levels drop as we age. That part is real.

[0:17]Here’s the twist. Most human trials don’t use NAD+. They use precursors, the building blocks, taken by mouth. In 2018, one called NR raised NAD+ in the blood of healthy older adults. In 2021, another called NMN improved muscle insulin sensitivity in about two dozen women with prediabetes.

[0:34]And NAD+ itself, straight into a vein? In people? There’s very little controlled research. Small studies, short follow-up, not much else.

[0:43]Injectable NAD+ isn’t approved as a medicine in Canada, and it’s named in Health Canada’s April 2026 warning about peptides sold online. So: the biology is real, the precursor trials are small, and the drip is mostly untested. Read the studies, not the spa menu.
