How is native IGF-1 different from IGF-1 LR3?

LR3 is an engineered analogue with an extension and a substitution that lower its affinity for IGF binding proteins, extending its active window. Native IGF-1 is the unmodified sequence and behaves as the body's own downstream messenger in research models.

Why does it need acidic solvent?

It is a folded protein with poor solubility at neutral pH. The standard approach is dilute acetic acid first, then dilution into the working buffer. Undissolved material in plain water is expected chemistry, not a faulty vial.
